Transit Support Programs

In Toronto, discounted transit fares and free PRESTO Cards are available for some priority populations. Below is a list of these supports with links to the website for each program.

Fair Pass Transit Dicsount Program

The Fair Pass Transit Discount Program offers discounted transit passes to Toronto residents who are low-income or enrolled in specific government assistance programs. The Fair Pass Transit Discount Program reduces the cost of adult single ride fares on Toronto Transit to $2.10 (a 36% discount) and adult monthly passes to $123.25 (a 21% discount).


To apply, you must be between ages 20-64 and be receiving Ontario Works (OW), Emergency Assistance, Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), or have an annual income below 75% of Statistics Canada’s Low-Income Measure After-Tax threshold. Complimentary PRESTO Card Initiative

Toronto Public Library provides free PRESTO cards to people who do not yet have one and may face challenges in purchasing one. PRESTO cards are available at select Toronto Public Library branches. Ontario Works (OW) & Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) Transportation Assistance

If you are enrolled in the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), you may receive money to cover the cost of travel to and from a medical appointment with approved healthcare professionals if you and your family spend $15 or more a month on transportation. Approved health care professionals include doctors, dentists and nurses. For more information on these programs, visit the Ontario Disability Support Program Website or Ontario Works Website. Other Transportation Discounts

Youth (ages 13-19), seniors (ages 65+) and post-secondary students can receive discounted transit fares. For more information, visit the TTC website.
